Best of the Best, National Champions 2021

Long Eaton Storm is an adult baseball club that is affiliated with the British Baseball Federation (BBF) and competes in the West Midlands Baseball League WMBL). As a BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) chartered club, Storm is committed to being a safe, strong, and sustainable grassroots organisation, connected to - and an important part of - the local community. The club trains and plays their home game at West Park, Long Eaton.

The club was founded by Michael Hayward and Jacobo Valdez-Chong in 2014 and was initially coached by former Great Britain national team manager Michael Harrold.

 winning the Single-A division title in 2015 and 2018, and being crowned BBF Single-A National Champions in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, we competed in the Double-A divisional championship of the 2020 British Baseball Federation Open Tournament, finishing 3rd place.

Prior the joining the WMBL in 2021, Storm played in the BFF Single-A and Double-A divisions, winning the Single-A division title in 2015 and 2018, and being crowned BBF Single-A National Champions in 2018, 2019.

In 2020, Storm competed in the Double-A divisional championship of the 2020 British Baseball Federation Open Tournament, claiming 3rd place with a win over the South Coast Pirates.

In 2021, Storm topped the WMBL league taking the top spot by run difference against Telford Giants earning the club entry to the Best of the Best National Tournament which involved all the leagues throughout GB. Storm went on the win the tournament beating Cambridge in the final.
