Matters Arising
The paragraph concerning Warley A’s withdrawal from the League was a little ambiguous and the Committee confirm than Jim Smith has not resigned from the League Committee.
Secretary’s Report (Andy Millington)
2.1 Will all Club Secretaries ensure that Andy has received all registration numbers on the pro forma circulated and remember that if a player does not have a registration number he may not play in the match. Also the Referees’ assessment form has been changed for this season but the old forms are still being returned. Please destroy your stock of old forms and use the new ones.
2.3 Proguard have changed their strip colours. Pistons Div 1 will play in black alt white and Pacers Div 2 will play in red alt white. The website has been updated.
2.4 An e-mail has been received from Barrie Viner, BC Bears, concerning two players, Jonathan Brown and Sam Richards (Pac), who have left the club owing a considerable amount of money. As of this date neither of these players may play in the West Midland League until the matter is sorted out.
2.5 Despite informing the recipients of trophies at the AGM that they would need to complete a receipt, none have been received. A copy of the receipt form was sent out directly to the clubs after the AGM and has been attached to the last two month’s Minutes. The matter was discussed and fines will be issued – Rule 6k.
Appeals (Tony Johnson)
3.1 Tony’s Report was read out by Andy as follows:
The Table course is now completed and a total of 12 candidates took place. My thanks go to Rebecca Orleans for being the course tutor and to Jeff Booton for helping out. We have now trained a total of 36 Table Officials. We are hoping to run another course next September.
3.2 Tony has had another meeting with West Midlands Fire Service who are now happy to sponsor the website, Rosebowl and the Summer League. However they would like more exposure to players of all clubs and not just those who will turn up for the Rosebowl final and Summer League. Tony has suggested that they sent each team Secretary promotional leaflets to be distributed to their players. West Midlands Fire Service will forward a cheque to sponsor the Rosebowl and Summer League before the event. They will forward a cheque for the website with the letter confirming sponsorship.
Media Manager (Makis Chatzimichalis)
Makis presented a break down of website use and explained that he receives several enquiries from parents trying to place younger children into clubs. If your club has a junior programme please let Makis know in order that he can update the website.
